thanks for your response. did you print the DS 160 ? I tried that but it wouldn't save it in pdf (like older forms). I didn't try to print the webpage itself.. what did you do... please let me know.

I'll be applying for my wife's and my visa stamping and therefore did some research on this issue myself. I believe that we'll need to print out DS-160 as well and take it to the consulate, the same way we did with previous forms. We can, therefore, write our names (or whoever is the applicant) in our native language on it.

If you had expressed yourself better (from your first post, I believed you wanted to file by yourself), I wouldn't have bothered with my response.
Saying that, you are right: attorneys do screw up. It happened to me...
But practically speaking, considering how complex a file can be, good luck to you on checking an attorney's job.

I did not contact the Ombudsmans Office or Aytes or AILA or DOS in order to discuss my personal case. It was just a part of my now years long efforts to bring attention to certain issues -- I've been speaking with staff at the Ombudsmans office for several years now, some issues and recommendations that have appeared in his report over the years were the result of these conversations.

If you are running out of time to save Candian PR under 3 years out of country stay rule, then only we have to think this canda stay.
If you can stay here and still save candian PR for this 1.5 years, just get into the system and try out here in US. That is the best bet rather than not trying at all.
Who knows you may get Labor/I140 in this 1.5 years and may get everything well.
DOL procedures - We really do not know how serious that **Supervised Recruit** is, unless it is experienced by people.
If you loose candian PR in 6 months or so, unless you land there, then we have to think about it.

Rose led the Bulls in scoringI am not getting any appointment in June with any doctor within 60 miles from my place. So I took an appointment with a doc 70+ miles away for end of june. The only problem is I need to go twice 70 miles one way. The clinic suggested I do the blood work in nearby county clinic, but the county clinic wants 7-10 days to get results of blood work. I asked them for HIV and Sephallius test to be done. I already got TB Skin test(tested negative) done at county clinic.
Can someone please tell what all blood tests need to be done, so I can check if any other doctor can do the blood work and I can save one 70 mile trip . Thanks.
its kinda interesting why there is no appointment available sooner. I am in florida and i heard frmo my attorney on Thursday.. and called 3 doctors Friday morning.. all three said come down right now. Finally went to one of them the same day in the afternoon.. he did some blood work.. gave me MMR and TD.. and did TB test. I want back today morning and got my all the reports.
As far as I know, we need to get only one blood work done.. doctor can test both HIV and Syph in the same one.

My PD is Dec 2005 (EB2) and I'm on EAD. I dont know when I'll get the GC but hoping that I'll get it in the next year. I already got an RFE so I'm not expecting another one. The question is, if I get laid off now, can I buy a business (say a convenience store or a subway) and run it (while on EAD)? and would it cause any problems now or in the future when applying for citizenship? I know you have to work in same or similar industry, but my industry is hard hit with recession and I don't think I can find a similar job. So how will they enforce this? Or do they even care?
not a problem as long as you are also working full time on a job that meets the requirements spelled out in your Labor Certification. Technically having only a job offer is enough, but if USCIS sees you running a convenience store, while holding a "job offer" for fulltime employment, it will most certaintly result in an interview and you will have to convince hte IO you intend to take up the job.
If you are already working full time, then USCIS does not care what else you do in parallel (own a convenience store, run your own company)

I am not sure, I can use a H1B transfer, from Company A to Company B, since I never work for Company A, so I do not have a pay check from Company A. Would this be an obstacle for me to transfer my H1B from Company A to B?

I dont think the H1B from company A and company B are related. Since you are on OPT which is a valid status, you may not need the H1B from company A. Moreover there is nothing called transfer. Every time its new H1B only you wont be calculated against the cap if you are already in H1B.
Also you dont need to join the company A and technically they can have the H1 valid and need not cancel it. Means you can have multiple H1 valid at the same time. But there are restrictions how many pay roll can run.
Simply, just leave the company A's H1 intact. Once your Company B is approved you can tell them or work for one month and leave company A.

In today's economy/job market, it is a nightmare not to have the protection of EAD.
Is there anyway we can get EAD for people in CP queue? Issuing EAD for those CP filers who are already in the US on work (H1B) VISA - is that even a possibility?
Any thoughts?

Funny, I was just in my local camera shop last weekend and brought up the idea of upgrading my D70 to the new D80. The guy in the shop said there really wouldn't be much in the way of noticeable differences in what I have now and mentioned the D200 would be the better way to go, the list of reasons right now escapes me but I thought I'd just pass that info on.

It is not crystal clear wether you can extend H1 or not after using EAD but is clear that you cant be working on H1 for one employer and EAD for another.

Dems even explicitly stated in the bill that no illegals will be eligible for the benefit.
They must be laughing inside because after the CIR, there will be not many illegals left.
Anyway just an observation.
Immigration Reform will follow 'Health Care' Bill. But the real hurdle for 'Health Care reform' is inclusion of Illegal Immigrants in the bill. No one can dare say that loud that they want to 'include' illegal immigrants because that will hurt any chances of passing the Health Care bill.
So, if they start the CIR discussions out in the public, the 'illegal immigrants' turning into 'legal' and hence eligible for 'health care' issue will be the highlight of ALL NEWS channels. That will do damage to health care. I'm sure unless & until health care reform is through, they can't get any details of CIR out to public.( I'm sure CIR includes Amnesty at the least )
That said, 'Donkeys' are bound to loose in next year mid-term if Obama does not live up to their pre-poll promises. Remember, Hispanics & other minorities are the edge for 'Donkeys' while some independents can weigh in either ways.
So, bottom line is CIR will pass after health care. But, I'll not bet too much on provisions for 'legal immigrants'. Since we are the only dog bone that 'Donkeys' have got to gain any required support for CIR. We need to work hard to get our provisions on the first draft and do everything possible to be included in the final version of the bill.
My ramblings anyways....

I want to sue them for 3 things -
1) Touching I-140 cases way outside processing times (eg. 2008 when the date is July, 2007)
2) Approving 2008 cases before 2007, ie., no FIFO
3) Discrimination against EB3 cases during I-140 stage. I-140 case processing should be independent of Eb category, I have not read any rule where it should be.
You cannot sue them for any of the above.
1) Most people do not understand the processing date concept. If the date says July 2007, then it is a guideline saying most of the cases before that date have already been processed. It does not mean that they will *not* process cases later than that date.
2) FIFO? If they had not dropped Eb3 cases and focussed on EB2 140s, then a lot of approvable 485s would not have been approved this year, resulting in unused visa numbers. So they made that choice. It is a temporary situation due to the huge backlog of 2007.

Yes, thats good news specially for the applicants in that region. In my opinion applicants from MP and Karnataka and AP will fall into that region I guess though not sure but just my 2 cents. Right now they just opened the office but I dont think they will be fully functional till mid-december 2008.
