Friends,

I have Canada PR since October 2006. In October this year I will complete 3 years since landing in Canada. The rule to maintain PR is that one should live in Canada for at least 2 years in a 5 year period. Since I have not lived in Canada more that a couple of weeks since landing, will I be allowed to move to Canada after completing 3 years outside Canada or will I be sent back from the border? Has anyone moved to Canada after living outside for more than 3 years since landing? Please advise.

At the end of expiry of the PR card that you get, you will need to renew it. At that time you need to show that you stayed for 2 years in Canada and when you cant show you lose the
PR and cannot renew the PR card.

We gave for fingerprints 5 days back but our LUD on I-485 is not yet updated. Is this common?

I-485 receipts from NSC.

Most of my friends LUD is updated within 2 days of giving finger prints.

Please post your experiences.

TIme to make this site a paid site with tightly controlled information access and forum features available only to the members.
What is the purpose of increasing the membership is a majority are non contributing members. Doesnt money buys us much more then the membership numbers? Making this site a paid site will drive away most members but the remaining will provide a continuous revenue stream.

Folks,

To celebrate or not to celebrate is the question. I received this email from my attorney's office:

Congratulations! You and your wife are now Legal Permanent Residents of the United States! It has been confirmed this afternoon your I-485 applications were approved this week and your green cards have been ordered.

However, my online status did not change. My question is : Has USCIS stopped updating online status ? or Is this a mistake on my attorney's side ?

Can I do anything in the next 3 days to confirm what happened to my case ? Suggestions appreciated.

It is going to be a long long long weekend for us.

LCA wage is $60K. For the current company it is Ok since I worked only for 8 months. But my concern is W2 with $50K in CA bay area will definitely raise a red flag when it comes to any further encounter with USICS (H1 extn/Labor/I-140/AOS/Consulate stamping). I will need to do a lot of explanation. I�m trying to avoid all that with a $60K W2.

What is the wage mentioned on LCA for the H1 ? Is it more then 50K?

If you don't know something please keep quiet. Don't spread nonsense rumors. First of all the primary GC applicant is not affected in anyway. Spouse GC will show up anywhere between 7 to 12 months depending upon how the documentation is done.

This might delay your GC for another 2years. Mainly due to security concerns after 9 / 11. Better option is to get your GC and then apply as family. Will take at least 4 to 5 years.

I don't have access to cover letter and in the other document which "Application for Alien Employment Ceritification" belong to US Dept of Labor, i'm seeing "dates forms received, Ind Code,occ code, Occ title"....in the BOTTOM RIGHT corner ....

If I work on EAD and do not get the EAD card before it gets expires, do I need to inform my employer about the status. If I inform them they will be removing my name from the payroll and it will be hard to include it again. It is like my job getting terminated.

This is my 6th yr (will enter 7th yr in Dec). I have approval until Dec'09. Does that mean I can apply for premium I-140 within 60 days of the end of 6th yr?
